Resealing is the cheapest work on this site and the most cost effective: it is the whole maintenance schedule of an exposed aggregate surface. The stone never fades, because its colour goes all the way through. What dulls is the sealer, and renewing it every three to five years is what keeps a surface reading poured-this-year for decades.
What a reseal involves
The surface is pressure cleaned back to bright stone, moss and stains lifted, then dried properly before sealing, because sealer over damp concrete is how milky patches happen. Then the coats go on thin and even, penetrating or film to match what suits the surface now, with a grip additive on slopes. The sealing guide explains the wet look versus natural decision and how the two sealer families behave; the choice gets confirmed with samples the same way a new surface does.
The colour refresh
A paste that has greyed off under years of sun can be lifted at reseal time with a tinted sealer system, deepening the surface a tone or two without repainting anything. It will not turn a cream surface charcoal, and anyone who says it will is selling paint. What it honestly does, restore depth and contrast, is shown on a sample panel before the whole surface is committed.
When a reseal is not enough
Sealed on time, a surface almost always comes back with a clean and two coats. Left for a decade, with oil into the concrete and stone wearing loose at the surface, the honest advice is sometimes that resealing is money down the drain, and that advice is given at the site measure before anything is booked. That conversation continues on the removal and replacement page, and the cost guide shows both numbers side by side so the decision is yours with the facts in front of you.
Priced as a visit, not a project
$18 to $30 per m² with a minimum charge, pressure clean included. Get a range for your area in the calculator or book the site measure and have the sealer identified while you are at it.
